From November 8th through Saturday, December 4th, toy donations were accepted to benefit local children through Holiday Family Outreach, a 51-year-old organization that provides needy families with toys at their annual Toy Day in Gettysburg.
Shipley Energy was proud to become involved in the community-celebrated annual event that J.F. Waybrant & Sons and WGET 1320 AM initiated with Holiday Family Outreach over 8 years ago. Shipley Energy kicked off the toy delivery on Thursday, December 9th when Santa arrived on the Shipley Fuel-O-Copter at the Gettysburg Fire Station. Jolly Ole' Saint Nick was greeted by smiling pre-school children from St. James Lutheran Church Day Care.

Santa handed out 75th Anniversary Shipley Energy Winross trucks and candy canes to the good little boys and girls and escorted the children back to St. James Lutheran Church. At St. James, Santa joined in to unload the trucks of overflowing donated toys with local Manito students, from the Shipley-Waybrant Energy Holiday Family Outreach Toy Drive.

On Saturday, December 11th, 2004, Toy Day served more than 1300 children ages 0-9 and more than 300 children ages 10-12. Each child received 2 to 3 new toys, plus books, stocking stuffers and stuffed animals.
